A Coralville man was arrested after an alleged assault on UIHC workers earlier this month.
Police say 28-year-old Eric Guise of Holiday Road was being treated at the ER the morning of July 22nd on the Hawkins Drive campus when he kicked a health care worker and pushed them to the ground. He then allegedly struck another health care worker on the left side of their abdomen. His yelling reportedly disturbed the other patients in the Emergency Department.
A warrant for Guise’s arrest was issued the next day, and he was taken into custody Friday. If convicted on both counts of Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations and one count of Disorderly conduct, he could be sentenced to over four years in prison.
Guise was released on his own recognizance, pending arraignment.
