Do you know a family in need? Please help us share the details of this upcoming food distribution event!

Johnson County agencies are partnering to host a Healthy Kids Iowa free food distribution event from 2 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Pepperwood Plaza, 1045 Hwy 6 East.

Families with children aged four to 18 who are at or below 185% of the federal poverty level are eligible for $40 in groceries per child. Eligibility is based on household size and income. Visit the Healthy Kids Iowa website to find out if you qualify.

No pre-registration is required, and children do not have to be present at the event.

This Healthy Kids Iowa distribution event is being organized by CommUnity Crisis Services & Food Bank and Coralville Community Food Pantry with support from HACAP Food Reservoir, the City of Iowa City, Johnson County, United Way of Johnson and Washington County, Dream City, and Community Foundation of Johnson County. Organizers aim for this event to ensure that 1,200 Johnson County children have access to essential nutrition during the summer months.

This distribution is part of a statewide Healthy Kids Iowa initiative, with additional distribution dates still to be determined for Johnson County in August. For more information about Healthy Kids Iowa and a full list of distribution events, visit hhs.iowa.gov/healthykidsiowa.
