An Iowa City man trespassed from the Waterfront Hyvee Sunday was arrested again Monday after allegedly threatening to beat up a convenience store employee.

According to police, 46-year-old Zachary Wallat of Shelter House entered the grocery store at approximately 6:45 pm Sunday and grabbed a pair of Hawkeye overalls valued at $50, put them on, and walked out of the store without paying for them.

Wallat  came back approximately three hours later still wearing the overalls. He then allegedly walked through the store and placed 9 items worth over $110 into the overalls and walked out without paying for the items.  He was stopped near the store and still had the allegedly stolen items on him.  Wallat reportedly had the odor of ingested alcohol but refused a PBT.

Due to previous theft convictions, Wallat was charged with 3rd degree Theft, Public Intoxication, and Trespass.

Then on Monday night, Wallat reportedly entered the Kwik Star on Keokuk Street in an intoxicated state and threatened to beat up an employee.  He consented to a PBT this time, showing his breath-alcohol level at .182 percent.  Wallat was charged with Public Intoxication, Trespass, and 2nd degree Harassment.

If convicted on all charges regarding the two incidents, Wallat could face over three years in prison.
