A Minnesota man clocked at nearly 20 miles over the posted speed limit was reportedly found with drugs when stopped by a state trooper.
The trooper pulled 42-year-old Tywan Rulford of Crystal Minnesota over at 11pm Tuesday for going 83 miles an hour. Upon contact, the odor of marijuana was observed, and Rulford allegedly said there was a “zip” in the car and he wasn’t going to lie about it.
Rulford directed the officer to push a button on the dash, which revealed a ziplock bag filled with raw marijuana. Rulford stated the bag weighed 56 grams and was for his personal use.
A PBT was implemented, showing his breath-alcohol level within the legal limit to drive.
Rulford was charged with 3rd or subsequent marijuana possession, a tax stamp violation, and given a warning for the speeding infraction. If convicted on the charges against him, he could face up to seven years in prison.
