A Tiffin man arrested last month on burglary and domestic abuse charges now faces weapons charges.
38-year-old Jamial Jones of Greenfield Drive forced his way into a North Liberty woman’s residence July 27th by shoving her 2 to 3 times before shoving her so hard that she was pushed back 2-3 feet before falling to the ground. He was taken into custody later that day after being located in Tiffin.
While in custody, an investigation and interviews reportedly took place and it was learned that Jones had two firearms at his residence. He had a previous conviction for domestic abuse and was not legally permitted to own or possess firearms.
An American Tactical brand AR-style pistol with a drum magazine containing ammunition, and a DPMS brand AR-style rifle with a magazine containing ammunition were recovered at Jones’ residence.
He now faces a charge of Dominion or Control of a Firearm by a Domestic Abuser, a Class D Felony. If convicted on all the charges against him, Jones faces a prison term of over 32 years .
