An Iowa City man was arrested on a warrant stemming from a July incident where he allegedly made off with two phones.
Police say 31-year-old Terron Petersen of Broadway Street was at the Robert A Lee Community Recreation Center the afternoon of July 14th and entered the gym at approximately 5:54pm. He reportedly sat down next to the victim’s two phones, pocketed them, then left the facility through the west entrance.
An Iphone 16 and an Iphone 15 Pro Max were allegedly stolen, with a combined value of $1600.
A warrant was issued Monday, and Petersen was arrested. He faces a felony charge of 2nd degree Theft and could be sentenced to up to five years in prison if convicted.
A check of Petersen’s criminal record shows several theft charges over the last two years, some still going through legal proceedings.
