Linn County is seeking civil penalties against a Minnesota-based company that allegedly dug 40 unpermitted wells on a construction site.
KCRG TV reports that a staffer from Linn County Public Health discovered an unpermitted well , installed by Northern Dewatering on the QTS data center construction site. A further investigation found as many as 40 other unpermitted wells had been dug.
Northern Dewatering drilled the wells between May 20 and June 11th.
The County sent a notice of violation to Northern Dewatering at the end of July. Linn County Public Health says they’re working with Northern Dewatering to get the proper permits and conduct inspections.
The County is seeking a civil penalty of $20.000.
