A new running event is coming to Cedar Rapids next year.
Corridor Business Journal reports The Cedar Rapids Marathon Weekend is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, 2026. Organizers say the event is intended to draw runners and walkers of all abilities and showcase the city’s downtown, trails, riverfront and neighborhoods.
The day will feature a full Boston-qualifying marathon, half marathon, team relay, 10K, 5K and free kids run.
Endurance Sports Marketing, which also produces the IMT Des Moines Marathon, is partnering with Cedar Rapids Tourism and the city to host the event.
Those interested in participating can register now at cedarrapidsmarathon.com. Course maps and other information will be released at a later date.
