An Iowa City woman was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly going to a man’s residence and instigating a physical fight.

Officers were dispatched to the residence of the reported victim at around 7:30 on reports of a fight in progress.  Upon arrival, police determined that 27-year-old Tina Madison of Westwinds Drive came to the man’s residence to confront him about some comments he made about her online.

The victim was asleep on a couch when Madison allegedly began yelling at him and striking him approximately 12-15 times. She also reportedly threw several liquor bottles at him, took his cellphone, and threw it in the toilet.

Madison was charged with 1st degree Burglary, a Class B Felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to 25 years if convicted.  She was released to the Department of Correctional Services pending arraignment.

A No-Contact order was requested.
