Prison inmate dies at UIHC

An inmate serving 15 years in prison on drug charges has died at the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center.

The Iowa Department of Corrections reports Otha Lee Jordan was pronounced dead at 6:57 Wednesday morning at the palliative care unit at the UIHC Hawkins Drive facility. He was 60 years old at the time of his death.

Jordan had been serving a 15-year sentence for a Controlled Substance Violation out of Polk County. His sentence began on January 15th of this year.
