The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says a Coralville sex offender provided law enforcement officials a fake social security number.
59-year-old Jose Rodriquez of Boston Way was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 10:45 Friday morning. The DCI says Rodriquez gave a fake social security number when he was filling out his initial entry into the Iowa Sex Offender Registry last year. He also reportedly continued to use the fake number on all ensuing correspondence with the state.
Rodriquez was convicted of Enticing a Minor in Johnson County in February of 2024. The victim is listed as a girl between the ages of 14 and 17.
If convicted on the Sex Offender Registry violation, Rodriguez faces a maximum sentence of two years in jail.
