Candidates for Mayor and City Council in Coralville can now file nominations papers through September 18th.
The Office of Mayor and three City Council positions will be on the ballot for the 2025 Coralville City election on November 4. Coralville has five City Council members who serve overlapping four-year terms. The Mayor serves a two-year term.
The terms for the elected City Council candidates and the elected Mayor begin on January 1, 2026.
Coralville’s nomination process is nomination by petition, with one election. Candidates are required to have a minimum of 50 signatures from eligible voters residing in Coralville on their petitions. Nomination papers can be picked up at the Johnson County Auditor’s Office, 913 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City, or available at the Iowa Secretary of State website.
