A Coralville City Councilor has announced her run for mayor.
In a news release Wednesday, Laurie Goodrich, a member of the Council since 2014, said she is seeking to continue dedicated service to the city as its mayor.
Goodrich has been Mayor Pro-Tem the last four years to current mayor Meghann Foster.
In addition to the many projects accomplished in Coralville in her tenure, Goodrich broadened her leadership skills by becoming a Certified Elected Municipal Official. Goodrich serves on the Iowa League of Cities Executive Board and is a member of the legislative policy committee.
Other candidates for Mayor and City Council in Coralville can now file nominations papers through September 18th.
The Office of Mayor and three City Council positions will be on the ballot for the 2025 Coralville City election on November 4. Coralville has five City Council members who serve overlapping four-year terms. The Mayor serves a two-year term.
Nomination papers can be picked up at the Johnson County Auditor’s Office on South Dubuque Street in Iowa City, or they’re available at the Iowa Secretary of State website, sos.iowa.gov.
