A bicyclist was taken to University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City after being hit by a truck in Kalona.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says the woman was riding on the 1400 block of E Avenue when she was struck by a pickup at about 7:30 Wednesday morning. She was transported to UIHC on Hawkins Drive after complaining of leg pain.
The driver of the truck, Gerardo Obregon of Kalona, was cited for Failure to Yield, Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance, and an expired registration.
