An area transient was taken into custody earlier this week on a warrant stemming from a robbery at Shelter House.

Officers were dispatched to the housing facility for a report of an assault the morning of August 28th. Upon arrival, they learned from the victim  that 44-year-old Marcus Garvin approached him in the driveway and reportedly grabbed $60 in cash that he was holding in his hand. Garvin then allegedly punched the victim in the face.

The incident was recorded on surveillance video.

A warrant was issued September 3rd and he was arrested Monday morning. Garvin faces a charge of 2nd degree Robbery, a Class C Felony punishable by a prison term of up to ten years if convicted.
