Construction on a 45,000 square foot athletic training facility is set to begin next month in North Liberty.
The Gazette reports the Corridor Sports Performance Center will be located at the intersection of Dubuque Street and North Liberty Road, and will serve as the hub for former Iowa Hawkeye men’s basketball player Kenyon Murray’s nonprofit, the Murray Family Foundation.
The facility will feature four basketball courts, which will also be used for volleyball and pickleball. Physical therapy spaces and a fitness center will be leased to outside partners, and a community event space is also planned.
The North Liberty City Council approved the site plan, development agreement and tax incentives at its last meeting. Construction will take 12 to 14 months to complete, at an estimated $10 million.
