North Liberty Police say a father punched his son in the head multiple times, causing injuries.
35-year-old Gary Ball was booked in to the Johnson County Jail just after 6:15 Monday night. A bystander reportedly recorded Ball grabbing his son by the neck and punching him in the head multiple times at the family’s Washington Avenue residence at 4:30 Monday afternoon. The boy reportedly had injuries to his chest, cuts on the back of his neck, and blood around the collar of his shirt.
Ball is now charged with Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury and Assault With Intent to Inflict Serious Injury. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
