A rural Iowa City man is accused of possessing child pornography.
22-year-old Gabriel Kauffman of Maier Avenue SW was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 5:45 Tuesday night. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says last December five different videos showing minors engaged in sex acts were found hidden in a “privacy safe” app on Kauffman’s cellphone.
Kauffman is charged with five counts of Possession of a Depiction of a Minor Engaged in a Sex Act. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.
