A Louisa County man is accused of sexually assaulting his mother.
A news release from the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office indicates a 67-year-old woman reported that her son, with whom she lived, had forced his way into the shower and sexually assaulted her. The woman was unable to drive, and was transported by authorities to University of Iowa Health Care on Hawkins Drive in Iowa City. Evidence collected during an investigation indicated that a sexual assault had occurred.
33-year-old Duane Martial Crossett III is now charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse, Elder Abuse, Incest, Sexual Abuse Causing Injury, and Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of 26 years in prison.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 29.
