The deadline for filing nomination papers ahead of this November’s Johnson County elections was on Friday, but one municipality had zero candidates file for any city offices.

A check of the official Johnson County Auditor’s Office web site shows no candidates filed to run for any of the available Oxford city positions, including mayor and three city council seats.

Also, no candidates have filed to run for mayor of Swisher, and only one person has filed for two open seats on the Hills City Council. The Clear Creek Amana school board election includes no official candidates in Districts 2 or 4.

The elections are all set for November 4th, and the positions with no candidates will be decided by write-in vote. More details and a link to request an absentee ballot can be found here.
