Construction of the new Event Center at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds is on schedule , as another new donation towards its completion has been announced.
River Valley Cooperative, based in Mt. Joy with more than 40 locations including Durant, has pledged $5000 towards the project.
The 17,000 square foot center will feature a large hall, prep kitchen, meeting room, patio, and modern restrooms.
According to a release from the fairgrounds, siding and framing is complete, and crews are now working on painting, insulation, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
Reservations for 2026 events are now being accepted at thekentcenter.com.
