A Coralville woman has been charged with a series of assaults that took place at University of Iowa’s main campus.
According to police reports, 32-year-old Kristy Ford of Coral Court was at the facility on February 28th of this year as a patient. That afternoon, she scratched the shin of a staffer, leaving a visible abrasion. She also reportedly clubbed another victim in the head and scratched their wrist. Another victim reportedly suffered a bite on the left chest. Later that evening, she allegedly threw a container of PlayDough at a nurse on shift, hitting her in the eye.
A warrant was issued on March 10th; she was charged September 25th with one count of Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations causing Bodily Injury, and three counts of Assault causing Bodily Injury. If convicted on all charges, Ford could be sentenced to up to 5 years in prison. She was released to the Department of Correctional Services with arraignment to be held at a later date.
