A Tiffin man has been arrested after it was discovered he “chopped up” a victim’s vehicle to sell it for parts on Facebook Marketplace.
According to police, 38-year-old Jamial Jones of Greenfield Drive took a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Truckhawk from the victim, who purchased it on November 15 2023 for $62,500 and still has an outstanding balance on the loan for the vehicle exceeding $10,000.
Jones allegedly “chopped up” the vehicle and was selling the parts on Facebook Marketplace, depriving the owner and the lienholder of their security interests.
Jones was charged Tuesday with 1st degree Theft, a Class C felony punishable by a prison term of up to ten years if convicted.
