A Rhodes Iowa man has been arrested after a weekend assault on his wife.

According to the victim’s narrative, 37-year-old Curtis Larson entered her apartment at approximately 12:41am Saturday. After some arguing, Larson allegedly grabbed the woman by the throat and held her against the wall. She reported dizziness, difficulty breathing and swallowing, and neck pain. The woman also said she thought she was going to pass out.

Larson also allegedly injured the woman by striking her on the right shoulder and the middle of her back with a dog leash.

The couple is legally married and have lived together in the past year, but are now separated due to an existing No-Contact order issued in April of this year.

Larson was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault impeding Airflow, and a third of subsequent Domestic Abuse Assault charge.  If convicted on both counts, he faces up to ten years in prison. Another no-contact order was requested.
