A lynchpin in the creation of the Iowa River Landing in Coralville is moving to Waterloo.
Backpocket Brewing announced Wednesday it’s joining Peace Tree Brewing in relocating their production to SingleSpeed’s Waterloo brewery beginning in early 2026. While the news release does not mention the Coralville location, Coralville Backpocket Mug Club members received notice that the Iowa River Landing taproom would be closing eventually, but it will remain open during the preparation for the move.
The combined Waterloo operation will be branded as The Brewery @ WonderBread, which is a product of a $750,000 grant from the city of Waterloo.
Backpocket was one of the first major businesses to open on the Iowa River Landing, opening its doors in 2012.
