A North Liberty man was arrested for an alleged assault incident that occurred earlier this year.
According to the police report, 35-year-old James Hillard Jr was in a verbal argument with the victim, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle with the door open in a parking lot on the 2200 block of Muscatine Avenue the morning of February 4th.
Hillard allegedly entered the vehicle and punched the man in the face. He then reportedly grabbed the victim by the neck and collar until he was able to push Hillard back with his feet.
A warrant was issued for his arrest February 5th, and Hillard remained at large until the warrant was served Monday. He was charged with 2nd degree Burglary and Assault with Intent to cause Pain or Injury. If convicted on both counts, he could face up to over ten years in prison.
A no-contact order was issued by Judge Brandon Schrock.
