An area transient that’s been trespassed from the Walgreens location on Muscatine Avenue multiple occasions has been arrested after allegedly stealing items from the store.
According to police reports, 32-year-old Porscha Curry was at the location the evening of October 5th and selected multiple items. She allegedly left the store without making an attempt to pay for them.
A warrant was issued on October 10th, and Curry was located Sunday evening on 1st Avenue in Iowa City. She was taken into custody, and a post-arrest search reportedly turned up a pipe containing drug residue and a plastic container in her chest area that held a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana.
Curry was charged with 3rd degree Theft, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, she faces a prison sentence of up to over three years.
A check of Curry’s criminal records showed over a dozen trespass violations over the last two years.
