A North Liberty man faces up to a decade in jail after a traffic stop turned up a significant amount of marijuana in his vehicle.

Police stopped 25-year-old Dashawn Walker-Willis of Westlake Road at 9:10pm Wednesday for several reported equipment violations.  Upon approaching the vehicle, the odor of marijuana was allegedly observed.  When asked, Walker-Willis reportedly stated no marijuana would be found in the vehicle.

However, officers reportedly found two clear bags with loose marijuana weighing approximately 47 grams and a sealed container with 3 and a half grams of substances with THC.

Walker-Willis now faces a Class D controlled substance violation, and Failure to Affix Drug Stamp. He could be sentenced to up to ten years in prison if convicted.
