A car fire on Interstate 380 delayed traffic heading to Kinnick Stadium for Saturday’s Penn State/Iowa game.
Firefighters from Swisher and North Liberty were called to a fully engulfed vehicle on the shoulder of I-380 southbound near the Iowa River bridge just after 5:00 Saturday night, blocking the right lane of traffic.
The fire was extinguished by 5:30, but cleanup kept the right lane blocked well past kickoff of Saturday night’s game, with delays of up to ten minutes at kickoff.
No other details about the fire have been released.
