The Iowa State Patrol has identified a Cedar Rapids resident killed in a Muscatine County crash earlier this month.
The Iowa State Patrol says a 2018 Ford Explorer being driven by 53-year-old Kristie Thompson of Lone Tree was heading northbound on Highway 70 between Conesville and Columbus Junction just before 6 a.m. on October 9th when it crossed the center line and struck a southbound Chevy Cruze being driven by 26-year-old Damelonin Lamboni of Conesville. The Chevy rolled into the east ditch and caught fire. Thompson, Lamboni, and two occupants of Lamboni’s vehicle…22-year-old Delphine Pabali and 25-year-old Koboyo Lakougnon, both of Cedar Rapids…were all transported to University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City. One occupant of the Chevy was killed. That person has now been identified as 29-year-old Ghafi Bounjou of Cedar Rapids.
The crash closed Highway 70 for several hours. The incident remains under investigation.
