Iowa City Community School District Superintendent Matt Degner has been named among Education Insider’s “Top 10 School District Superintendents.”
The Press-Citizen reports the recognition celebrates “visionary educators who are transforming learning environments through innovative policies, data-informed strategies, technology integration, inclusive leadership, and a deep commitment to student success.”
The Iowa City Community School District is the second largest in Iowa, only behind Des Moines Public Schools.
Degner told the newspaper he accepts the recognition on behalf of the entire district.
Three schools in the district were named among the best in Iowa by US News and World Report, citing Iowa City West as the top public high school, with Liberty high at 8th and City high at 12th.
