Tuesday was election day, and there were several local contested races.
Winners in the Iowa City City Council race include Mayor Bruce Teague, Megan Alter, and Shawn Harmsen.
Coralville council winners are Hai Huynh, Mike Knudson and Katie Freeman, with Laura Goodrich winning the Coralville mayoral race.
The winners in the Tiffin city council race include Tim Orris, Eric Schnedler and Tony Johnson.
The Solon city council winners are Greg Morris, Matthew Macke and Tom Gordon.
In Shueyville, Matthew Wilson and Joel Sennett have been elected to the city council.
The Iowa City school board race saw Jayne Finch, Ruthina Malone and Jennifer Horn-Frasier earn victories, while the Clear Creek Amana school board election saw Casey Jay Cooney elected in the only contested race.
Local Option Sales Tax proposals passed in Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Oxford, Lone Tree, and Shueyville.
