A University of Iowa student was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly being found sitting in the IMU parking garage next to a bag of marijuana.

Police reportedly observed the 18-year-old resident of Daum Hall sitting next to a white bag containing a green leafy substance that resembled marijuana. The male student claimed ownership of the items and was asked for ID, and was observed to be in possession of two Iowa driver’s licenses. When asked, however, he allegedly denied having an Iowa license. A search incident to arrest reportedly found a fictitious Iowa license.

The student was charged with marijuana possession and possession of a fake ID. He could be sentenced to a maximum two years in prison if convicted on both counts.
