UI Student charged with stealing money from friend

A University of Iowa Student has been arrested after it was alleged she stole money from a fellow student.

According to the police report, the 18-year-old resident of Burge Hall committed multiple thefts from her friend at the Mayflower residence hall starting on October 16th. Over the course of multiple incidents, she took an estimated total of $1035 from the student.  The victim installed a camera which allegedly recorded the thefts.  When interviewed, the student reportedly admitted stealing the money.

The woman was arrested and charged with 3rd degree Theft. She could be sentenced to up to two years in jail if convicted.
