A North Liberty woman was taken into custody after a domestic incident early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the Sugar Creek Lane residence of 25-year-old Alexis Schreiner for a report of a trespass. Upon arrival, it was learned that Schreiner and her live in boyfriend had reportedly been drinking alcohol and arguing over the man wanting Schreiner to leave. Officers on scene advised the couple that it was a civil matter and would require an eviction process.
A few minutes after leaving the premises, police were called back and talked to the man in the hallway. He reportedly had blood smear on his nose and a fresh abrasion on the left side of his face near his mouth. He told police that prior to their first arrival Schreiner forced her way through the bedroom door and he proceeded to push her out of the room. While that was happening, Schreiner allegedly bit the man on the face.
The couple are parents of 7-month old twins.
Schreiner was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail. A no-contact order was requested.
Schreiner was additionally charged with Interference with Official Acts causing Bodily Injury after allegedly fighting with deputies as they were putting her Into a holding cell. A deputy’s left knee was reportedly injured in the process. That charge is also a serious misdemeanor.
