Multiple agencies responded to a field fire near Cosgrove Sunday afternoon.
The Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center received a report of a hay bale on fire at 4080 Cosgrove Road just after 12:15 Sunday afternoon. Oxford firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and called in firefighters from Kalona and Tiffin to assist with a tanker and a grass truck. A later update indicated multiple bales and about two acres of vegetation were burning, and the Williamsburg Fire Department was also called in to assist.
The fire was extinguished and all units were back in service within two hours.
