The Coralville Fire Department responded to a reported mobile home fire in the Western Hills Estates manufactured housing community at approximately 7:30 Thursday night.
Upon arrival, firefighters found active flames coming from the structure. Crews quickly initiated fire attack, bringing the fire under control approximately an hour after arrival. The cause of the fire remains under investigation but appears accidental in nature.
Firefighters remained on the scene for an additional hour-and-a-half to extinguish hot spots and ensure the area was safe. One adult was home at the time of the fire. The occupant was able to get out without assistance. In total, four adults and one juvenile were assisted by the American Red Cross.
