An Iowa City woman was charged Wednesday afternoon after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident.
37-year-old Diana Ngaluba of Aster Avenue reportedly ran a red light and hit a child bicyclist in the crosswalk at Mall Drive and 1st Avenue in Iowa City at approximately 3:08 pm. She then reportedly drove away without providing any information or offering any aid.
An officer located her at her residence shortly after 4:30pm; she allegedly admitted to the accident and leaving the scene. The victim reported pain in his left ankle, but it wasn’t believed there were any broken bones.
Ngaluba was charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident, a serious misdemeanor.
