Cedar Rapids man faces felony drug charge after being stopped at bus station

A Cedar Rapids man faces felony charges after allegedly being found with marijuana at a bus station.

Police stopped 25-year-old Jonquell Dawson of Richmond Road NE Saturday morning at 1:16 at the Trailways bus stop on East Court Street.  According to the arrest report, he was in possession of over 128 grams of raw marijuana, packaged out in multiple baggies and contained in a quart-sized bag along with a scale.

Dawson was reportedly also in possession of a handgun.

He was taken into custody and charged with a Class D Controlled Substance violation, Failure to Affix Drug Stamp, and Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons.  If convicted on all counts, Dawson faces a prison sentence of up to eleven years.
