The Iowa man who sued the federal government after he claimed Immigration and Customs Enforcement was holding him without due process is going to be deported.

24-year-old Noel Lopez De La Cruz of Mount Pleasant had his last hearing Wednesday morning, and learned of the decision.

De La Cruz was brought to the United States from Mexico when he was two years old and has remained her ever since. He’s being deported to Mexico within the next two weeks.

De La Cruz’ family told KCRG TV that he’s being sent to a country he’s never known, without knowing any relatives that live there.

He had been working as a landscaper before being detained by ICE.
