Iowa City Police have arrested an Appanoose County man they say was trying to have sex with a 15-year-old.
According to arrest records, last month 32-year-old Conan Pierce of Cincinnati, Iowa began communicating with a subject via Facebook Messenger. Pierce allegedly believed the other person was a 15-year-old girl, and he allegedly solicited “bra and panty” photos, discussed performing sex acts with the girl, and sent her a photo of his erect penis. Police say Pierce also discussed meeting the girl in-person so they could perform sex acts.
Pierce is charged with Grooming and Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of six years in prison.
