A Coralville man is accused of stealing a pressure cooker and action figures from Walmart.
Iowa City Police say 37-year-old Michael Cooper of 9th Street and a co-defendant each stole a $159 Ninja pressure cooker from the retailer’s Iowa City location on Highway 1 West on Tuesday night. Arrest records indicate he then returned with a female accomplice and stole five action figures. He was only caught because he allegedly walked up to the accomplice after she was arrested for her own reported theft.
Cooper was charged with two counts of 3rd Degree Theft. A glass smoking pipe with residue was allegedly found in his pocket, and Cooper now faces an additional charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
If convicted on all counts against him, Cooper faces a maximum of 25 months in jail.
