Cedar Rapids Firefighters and Police responded at approximately 9:58p.m. Monday to an apartment complex fire in the 2200 block of Westdale Dr SW.
First-arriving CRPD officers made an initial attempt to locate residents and the origin of the fire on the 2nd floor. Firefighters began immediate search and fire suppression efforts. The incident commander called a second alarm, bringing additional assets to the scene. Two individuals were located and treated on-scene. Fire was contained mostly to the second-story apartment with damage to interior and exterior walls and the ceiling. Under-control came at approximately 10:38p.m.
Two residents were displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
