Even a snowstorm didn’t stop a pair of men from getting arrested for a bar fight in Shueyville late Saturday night.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was called to Shuey’s just after 11:00 Saturday night for a fight in progress. 21-year-old Antoine Williams of Tiffin is accused of picking one victim up and throwing him to the ground, punching another in the face, and spitting in a third person’s face, with the spittle also striking a nearby woman. Arriving deputies say Williams was found stumbling in the road outside.
22-year-old Dylan Bowser of Cedar Rapids was allegedly seen in video footage of the fight punching another man in the face, causing a cut lip. Bowser allegedly claimed he only punched the other man because that man used a racial slur toward his friend.
Both men showed signs of intoxication. Williams is charged with two counts each of Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Simple Assault and one count of Public Intoxication, while Bowser is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted on all counts, Williams faces a maximum of 27 months in jail while Bowser could spend up to one year behind bars.
