A Hills man was arrested in Iowa City last week after a stop for speeding reportedly turned up open containers of alcohol, marijuana, and a weapon.
Deputies stopped 62-year-old Kenneth Meyerholz of Oak Street at around 11pm near the corner of South Gilbert Street and Napoleon for allegedly speeding. Upon contact, multiple open containers were allegedly observed in the vehicle. Also reportedly found were marijuana in a pill bottle with Meyerholz’s name on it, a meth pipe, and a handgun. A second meth pipe was also allegedly found on his person.
Meyerholz was taken into custody. He faces one count each of marijuana possession, person ineligible to carry dangerous weapons, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum sentence of 25 months.
