A building on the University of Iowa campus was briefly evacuated Tuesday night after a possible gas leak.
UI Campus Safety received a report of the smell of gas at the UI Chemistry Building on North Madison Street just before 5:15 p.m., triggering a HawkAlert that warned the pubic to avoid the area.
The Iowa City Fire Department responded, and the situation was resolved about a half-hour later.
