Enjoy a free meal and festive activities for all ages at the Coralville Recreation Center!
Celebrate the season with a warm meal and cold-weather fun at the Coralville Recreation Center on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm!
Join us for a free Winter BrrrBQ Community Meal featuring the tastes of a summer grill-out—right in the heart of winter. Enjoy hamburgers on buns, cowboy caviar, fruit salad, prepared by community volunteers and pantry staff, with desserts provided by community members. Vegan/vegetarian options will be available. This free event is hosted by Coralville Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Coralville Community Food Pantry.
Come for the free meal, and stay for the holiday fun! Activities will include:
- Holiday crafts, bounce house, and photos with Snowdrop the snowman, courtesy of Coralville Parks and Recreation
- Free kids’ books, provided by Friends of the Coralville Public Library
- Free glitter tattoos, provided by the Mariam Girls’ Club
- Free flu vaccines, offered by Rx4Prevention
- COVID-19 vaccines, offered by Rx4Prevention (must present insurance card for the Covid vaccine)
To prepare for this event, the Recreation Center will be closed from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Friday, December 12. The Recreation Center will re-open at 5:00 pm for the Community Meal and related activities. Drop-in use on the “dry” side of the Recreation Center will be closed from 3:00 until 8:00 pm. The indoor pool will be open; see the pool schedule at www.coralville.org/indoorpool.
