A Cedar Rapids woman has pleaded not guilty in a Johnson County bigamy case.
33-year-old Victoria Weston of King Drive SW entered the plea on Monday. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says Weston was already married to someone in Georgia when she got married to another person at the Johnson County courthouse on December 10th of last year. Weston later reportedly told investigators that she knew the first marriage was still valid when she signed the legal papers for the December 2024 marriage in Iowa City.
Bigamy carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail upon conviction. A trial date is not listed in online records.
