An Iowa City man was arrested Wednesday afternoon when he was allegedly found with marijuana and meth.

A police officer came in contact with 53 year-old Roger Hunter of Gilbert Court in the 5th floor elevator lobby of the Old Capitol parking ramp on South Clinton Street at approximately 5:50pm. According to the arrest report, Hunter had the odor of un-smoked marijuana, and he admitted to having a small amount on his person. He then turned over a smoking device with marijuana packed inside.

The officer then located a meth pipe and a small bag with a white crystal powder in his pants.  Hunter reportedly told the officer that the items in the pants weren’t his because the pants he was wearing were not his.

Hunter faces charges of marijuana possession, a controlled substance violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  If convicted on all counts, he faces a prison sentence of over 7 years.
