A Stanwood Iowa woman was arrested Friday afternoon after attempting to steal items from an Iowa City grocery store.

At around 4:30pm, staff at the Waterfront HyVee allegedly saw 45-year-old Sally Morris putting multiple items into a black bag as she walked around the store.  She then reportedly walked past all points of sale without paying for the items and was confronted by staff.

The total value of the items in her bag was over $325.

Morris was charged with 4th degree theft and could be sentenced to up to a year in jail if convicted.
